Our Founder

1970

NTC was Founded by Al-Hajj Kurban Ali Nawrozzadeh who came to the UK in 1959 and first established premises at the port of London. Importing from his native Afghanistan, Kurban Ali distributed to wholesalers and retailers all over the world. The Nawrozzadeh family were already active and renowned in Afghanistan for the art of weaving and selling Rugs for well over 100 years. Coming from a long line of manufacturers, weavers and traders of  handmade Afghan carpets and Rugs, Kurban Ali Nawrozzadeh began trading!

Kabul

1980

In 1970 they established the first ever weaving center in Kabul, Afghanistan, making wool and silk carpets using vegetable dyes.The weaving centers grew from training & education in the art of weaving and provided employment for many families in Afghanistan, many of whom used the expertise and knowledge acquired in the weaving centers when they migrated as refugees due to the turmoil which struck Afghanistan in the 1980s after the Russian Soviet Invasion.

1990

The weaving centers grew from training & education in the art of weaving and provided employment for many families in Afghanistan, many of whom used the expertise and knowledge acquired in the weaving centers when they migrated as refugees due to the turmoil which struck Afghanistan in the 1980s after the Russian Soviet Invasion.Soon after establishing relations with Retailers and wholesalers all over the world, Kurban Ali moved premise after the closure of the London Docks to Highgate, where he began importing Rugs from China and distributing to the UK & Ireland.

2000

Nawrozzadeh Trading Co. (NTC) extended their activities and began importing Rugs from all over the middle east region including: Persia, India, Turkey, Pakistan, China and Nepal and rapidly grew from becoming one of the most foremost stockist and distributors of Oriental carpets in Europe.

2010

The succes of NTC is based on a genuine love for the art of weaving and the inherent knowledge of processes involved in the weaving of Rugs. We began our retail training programme in Ireland and continue to train staff throughout our jurisdiction.

Till today we pride ourselves in our training programmes to retail staff and providing commercial ability to share the passion for handmade Rugs.
